Carbon Offset Ratings

Det Norske Veritas (DNV), a founding member of the Carbon Collaborative, has begun to develop a new risk rating system for carbon offsets. Such systems are common in the traditional financial markets and often have significant impact on the price of the rated asset. 

As the leading third party verifier of emission reduction projects under the UN CDM, DNV has the proven technical capacity to evaluate the quality of various offset products. The Carbon Collaborative will support DNV's efforts by soliciting feedback from its various stakeholders during the development process.
